Does Valentine’s Day cause a HUGE dilemma for you?
Did you set a New Year’s Resolution to be healthier and more fit this year and you’re sticking to it?
Did you just start a new healthy and fitness routine?
Or maybe you’ve been living a healthy lifestyle for years not?
Whichever one describes you best, Are you worried that Valentine’s Day will set you off track and derail your progress? You’re not alone!!! I’ve been living a healthy lifestyle for a long time now and have been able to get rid of the excess weight and feel like myself again. Plus, I’m in test group for a brand new program and I want to follow it to a T. I’m not about to sacrifice all of my hard work for one night’s worth of food….that will probably make me feel like crap the next day anyway!
Every year my husband buys me chocolates, in hopes that I will eat them! I swear, he buys the ones he likes on purpose!
So this year, I told him that instead of buying expensive chocolates for me (himself), that I’d rather do something fun with him instead. After all, I fell in love with him…His personality, character, sense of humor and his giant heart! NOT the chocolate!!!
Being the good sport that he is, he said he’d go along with it! (Another reason why I love him!)
Below are just a few ideas I came up with that I thought would be fun, engaging and that wouldn’t be focused around food.
I’ll have to be honest, the couples coupon booklet is my favorite on the list so far. These are so simple to make. You can either print our blank ones or make your own with a box of crayons!!!
Here are some ideas I came up with off the top of my head. (Notice how “Day without chores is at the top!)
~ A day without chores
~ One free back rub
~ Movie / series of your choice
~ Long walk in the park together
~ Video Game Match
~ Breakfast in bed
~ Night on the town
~ Date night of your choice
~ Picnic in the park
~ Workout of your choice together
~ Sporting event of your choice (Thank God I married a Mets fan!)
~ Good for one:(________) Fill in the blank
You get the point….
Valentine’s Day or any other holiday doesn’t have to be about the food. It’s about spending time with our loved ones and making memories.
So…ditch the chocolate and spend some quality time together, doing things that made you first fell in love with each other.
